Moon by Terry Cuttle Taken at Urban Observers Holland Park (Brisbane) 18 Sept 05 2118 Hrs Local Time (9 and a quarter hours after full moon)Equipment: TeleVue TV-76 480mm f6.3 refractor with 4x powermate and Canon EOS 350D Digital SLR camera at prime focus. Exposure 1/125sec, f25, ISO 400, Daylight white balance. Composite of two images each less than full frame. Image levels adjusted with Adobe Photoshop to effectively enhance contrast and reduce brightness. This adjustment was made to show more clearly the difference between the "seas" and the highlands, and to highlight the rays from Tycho (centre right)and several other craters. The image is orientated to appear as the moon is seen to rise in Brisbane (N to the left). |
