Camp 2
Dark Sky Camp 2 is located in the the South Burnett Region, 4 hours north west of the Brisbane CBD. The homestead features Bortle Class 1 night skies it is a perfect location for members to view and photograph the night sky from the dedicated astro-field.

DEDICATED ASTRONOMY FIELD Camp 2 allows members to enjoy Bortle 1 skies on a very large dedicated Astro Field away from any stray light. All external light sources are turned off during your stay and the toilet facilities are fitted with a red light. The caretakers are very accommodating with our need for a dark environment. On the off chance there are other independent campers staying there, they are located at the other end of the complex well away from the Astro Field and are very amenable to restricting their white light to the inside of their caravans, especially if we offer them a look through the telescopes. The Astro Field provides exceptional 360° views of the night sky. |

ACCOMMODATION This location has a number of accommodation options available so you can stop and enjoy the peace and quiet. Alternatively there’s a huge amount of open space for un-powered camping. With that in mind you’ll find many well kept grassed areas to camp on. Cabin accommodation: 6 rooms each accommodating two people Caravan sites: There are limited number of powered sites and ample room for unpowered sites. Natural grass sites: These are set in an historical setting. |
